Raba said: In truth, Symmachus ruled thus only when each pleads, 'perhaps,' but not when each states, '[I am] certain:' but read [in the Mishnah]: The vendor maintains, 'Perhaps it was before I sold [her],' and the vendee, 'Perhaps it was after I bought [her].'
